Rules
Instructions Tetrarch follows whenever it works in this project.
Rules are standing instructions. Tetrarch reads the ones that apply, so you stop repeating how this project is built.
Where they live
- In the project, checked in with the code, so the team shares them
- In AGENTS.md at the project root, when you want one plain file
- On your machine, for every project you open
- For the team, shared to everyone on the plan
When they apply
- Every chat
- When the files you are touching match a pattern you set
- When you mention the rule with @
- When Tetrarch judges that the rule fits the task
Match the style of the file you are editing. Leave the rest of the file as you found it.Add to Tetrarch
Keep them short
A short rule leaves room for the code. Write the constraints you actually care about: the package manager, folders to leave alone, how tests are run.
